Ramen In Wicker Park And Logan Square: The Bowl, The Egg And The Plan

A ramen menu price does not always buy the same order. At Oiistar and Ramen Wasabi, the pork-broth bowls compared here include an egg; at Akahoshi, the miso bowl’s egg is extra and a mandatory service charge replaces tipping. Start there, then decide whether you need lunch, pickup or an advance reservation. This guide covers one Wicker Park restaurant and two Logan Square shops, with named bowls and current service rules. It does not rank their taste or assume that a similar price means an identical meal.

Oiistar For An Egg-Included Bowl In Wicker Park

Oiistar’s menu lists Paitan Shio at USD 19.90 with Berkshire pork belly, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, scallion, onion oil and a marinated soft-boiled egg. The same menu offers a noodle choice between house-made thin Hakata noodles and a thicker wavy option. Those are useful details if you know the sort of bowl you want before leaving home.

For a companion avoiding meat, Veggimen is listed at USD 19.90 with shiitake-and-vegetable broth, tofu, mushrooms, avocado, peppers and spicy oil. Discuss specific dietary needs directly. 1385 N Milwaukee Avenue is in Wicker Park. Oiistar’s seating policy accepts telephone reservations only for parties of six or more before 6:30 p.m. in fall and winter; a pair should not plan around a reservation. The restaurant also links official pickup ordering.

Ramen Wasabi For A Logan Square Lunch

Choose Ramen Wasabi’s original Logan Square branch when ramen is the afternoon plan. Its posted lunch service runs Tuesday–Sunday, noon–3:30 p.m. The Signature Tonkotsu is USD 19, with pork broth, pork belly char siu, soft-boiled egg, bamboo shoots, scallion, sesame, wood-ear mushroom and garlic oil. The current branch menu also lists Vegan Tantan Miso at USD 18 with seitan ragu and mushroom-and-seaweed broth; confirm the noodle selection for the order you need.

Use 2101 N Milwaukee Avenue, not the separate Fulton Market location. The authorized pickup menu provides a pickup alternative, but its ordering windows differ from restaurant service hours. Follow the actual offered collection time. The branch reopens for dinner at 5 p.m., Tuesday–Sunday. A dining-room reservation policy was not verified, so no bookable table or short wait is promised here.

Akahoshi When You Want Miso And A Booking Route

Akahoshi’s namesake miso uses a blend of misos, lard and house-made Sapporo-style noodles, with pork chashu, bean sprouts, green onion and bamboo shoots. The bowl is USD 19.75; a USD 2 ajitama egg brings the food subtotal to USD 21.75. With mandatory 20% service, that is USD 26.10 before tax. Leave the egg off and the bowl with service is USD 23.70. No additional tip is expected.

The shop at 2340 N California Avenue, Suite B, serves Tuesday–Saturday, 5–9 p.m. Reservations release on a rolling 42-day window at noon Central Time, according to the official FAQ. It also accepts walk-ins, without a guaranteed wait. This is dine-in only. The USD 19 Veggie-Kotsu can be made vegan on request; specify that when ordering and ask about any additions.

Match The Bowl To The Rest Of The Day

If it is lunch in Logan Square, check Wasabi’s service window first. If you are already in Wicker Park and want pork broth with an egg, Oiistar gives you a specific order to start from. For Akahoshi’s miso, choose dine-in, use the current reservation release rule, and count service when comparing costs. A booking calendar and opening time cannot tell you tonight’s walk-in wait.
