Cumin For Momo And A Curry Order

At Cumin’s Wicker Park branch, eight steamed chicken momo cost USD 12. Cumin’s Nepali dumplings come with tomato sauce, and the menu notes sesame powder. They give the table a Nepali starting point before the Indian curries.

Then decide how many curries you want. Chicken tikka masala and butter chicken are USD 18 each, but entrées explicitly exclude rice. One USD 3.50 basmati rice and a USD 4.75 garlic naan bring those two curries to USD 44.25; adding momo makes USD 56.25. Budget for those sides when choosing your curries. Use 1414 N Milwaukee Avenue, rather than the Lakeview branch, and avoid Monday, when Wicker Park is closed. Dinner is posted from 4 to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

Check Cumin’s menu or book the Wicker Park branch.

Superkhana For A Calzone Each

Superkhana’s butter chicken calzone puts chicken thighs, mozzarella and Amul cheese inside one order for USD 19. Its equally priced aloo gobi calzone uses roasted cauliflower, serranos and mozzarella. Choose it when you each want a baked main, with room to add a dish for the table.

Two calzones plus the USD 15 chana chaat make a USD 53 food order. The chaat adds tamarind, yogurt, herbs, sev and jalapeño. Both it and the aloo gobi calzone contain dairy. The limiting factor is the calendar. At 3059 W Diversey Avenue in Logan Square, the official site lists dinner Wednesday and Thursday, 5–9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 5–10 p.m. Sunday brunch does not establish Sunday dinner service.

Mirra For A Biryani To Share

At Mirra, let the biryani organize the order. Its USD 52 lamb barbacoa biryani combines basmati rice, saffron and mint under a roti seal; the restaurant lists it as serving two or three. The Indian-Mexican menu gives that dish company in the form of roti quesadillas with mushroom, Amul cheese and Chettinad masala, among other plates.

For two people, the biryani plus USD 24 Mirra mezze totals USD 76 before the bill’s extras. Mezze brings achar, salsa tatemado, sikil pak, guacamole, tlayudas and papads, for an opening spread to share. Find Mirra at 1954 W Armitage Avenue in Bucktown. Dinner runs Tuesday–Sunday from 4:30 to 10 p.m.; the site distinguishes a 9 p.m. last reservation from walk-ins accepted until 9:30 p.m. Neither is a seat guarantee.

Read Mirra’s dinner menu or check Mirra reservations.

Match The Dinner To The Night

On a Wednesday or Thursday, all three posted dinner schedules give you an option. For Sunday dinner, narrow this shortlist to Cumin or Mirra: Superkhana lists Sunday brunch but no Sunday dinner. None of these three is a Monday dinner choice on its posted schedule.

These addresses sit in three neighborhoods. Choose the one that fits the rest of your evening, then use the order and dinner schedule to break the tie.

Make The Call

Cumin gives you the clearest curry-and-sides calculation, with momo available to change the meal. Superkhana suits a calzone-led dinner on its limited dinner nights. Choose Mirra when everyone wants the same shared centerpiece and its larger example spend fits the evening.

For another evening in the same areas, compare Wicker Park and Logan Square ramen or Bucktown dinner for two.
