Thai Dinner In Wicker Park And Bucktown: Bowls, Curries Or A Whole Fish

Count the rice before choosing Thai dinner for two in Wicker Park or Bucktown. Silom12 includes it with curries, Silli Kori lists a complete Massaman order on its pickup menu, and Tuk Tuk offers whole snapper in a rice-included signature section. The next choice is how to eat: an order each or dishes to share. Here are three different dinner plans, with protein prices, pickup qualifications and BYOB charges explained before you settle on a restaurant.

Pick The Dinner Format

Choose Silli Kori for an individual bowl order, Silom12 for two curries with rice included, or Tuk Tuk for a whole fish and another dish to share.

Silli Kori For A Bowl Each

The dinner section of Silli Kori’s official pickup menu lists a USD 15 Massaman curry with braised chuck roll, cumin, pearl onion, potato confit and jasmine rice. At the same listed price, kao soi offers beef or chicken with curry, egg noodles, pickled mustard greens and garlic. One of each makes a USD 30 food subtotal, giving two people separate orders rather than a shared centerpiece.

That price has a limitation: it is a pickup-menu amount, not a confirmed dine-in quote. Check the restaurant’s table prices before using it to set the budget for a seated evening. Silli Kori is at 2053 West Division Street. Its homepage posts 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Monday–Friday and 4–10 p.m. on weekends; the lunch menu does not mean Saturday lunch is available.

Silom12 For Curries With Rice Included

Silom12 is the choice when you want the side calculation settled. Its currently linked printed menu includes steamed jasmine rice with the main curry section. Chicken green curry costs USD 15.95; shrimp red curry costs USD 17.95. Together they total USD 33.90 for food, with no separate jasmine-rice order needed for those dishes. Switching to brown or sticky rice adds USD 1 per dish.

The curry ingredients also help break a tie: green curry lists coconut milk, bamboo shoots, bell pepper, eggplant and basil, while red curry adds green beans in place of eggplant. The vegetarian section has separate composed dishes and prices; do not substitute its USD 16.95 curry figure for every tofu option. At 1846–48 North Milwaukee Avenue in Bucktown, Silom12 posts noon opening daily. Call to reserve, and ask about automatic gratuity if your pair becomes a larger group.

See Silom12’s official menu page and the current printed menu.

Tuk Tuk For A Whole Fish To Share

Use the Wicker Park branch at 1500 West Division Street, not the Lakeview address in many citywide guides. Tuk Tuk lists plaa rad prik, a whole fried snapper with sweet-spicy sauce, at USD 32 in its rice-included signature section. Add USD 16 kai yang—charcoal-grilled chicken quarters with Jaew sauce—and the two dishes total USD 48 for food. This is an order to agree on together, rather than one curry allocated to each person.

If bringing wine is part of the plan, account for the actual BYOB terms. The restaurant permits one 750 ml wine bottle or a six-pack of beer per two guests, charges USD 2 per glass and excludes hard liquor. Two charged glasses would add USD 4, separate from buying the bottle. Weekday service pauses between 3 and 4:30 p.m.; the posted kitchen cutoff is earlier than closing time.

Read Tuk Tuk’s menu and use its branch-specific reservation links.

Settle The Practical Detail Before Heading Out

For a Saturday afternoon meal before 4 p.m., Silli Kori drops out of these posted opening schedules; Silom12 and Tuk Tuk start earlier. For a weekday dinner beginning at 4 p.m., Tuk Tuk’s afternoon pause matters. Its site posts kitchen cutoffs of 9:30 p.m. Monday–Saturday and 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Plan around those earlier food-service times.

The two Division Street restaurants and the Milwaukee Avenue restaurant are separate destinations. Choose the address that fits the rest of your evening rather than treating this as a three-stop meal.

Where To Start

Start with Silom12 if two curries and included rice answer the brief. Choose Silli Kori for the defined pickup bowl order, after checking the price for your chosen service. Pick Tuk Tuk when sharing a whole fish sounds like the evening you actually want, and include any corkage in your budget.

For another menu in the same areas, compare Indian dinner formats or Wicker Park and Logan Square ramen.
