Café Robey For Breakfast Before The Others Open
An early start is the reason to choose Café Robey: it serves breakfast from 7 a.m., every day. The current menu lists a USD 17 Breakfast Plate with two eggs, hash browns, toast and a choice of bacon or sausage. Steak is a USD 10 addition, so it does not belong in the base-price comparison. If you want a different egg order, the USD 16 huevos rancheros lists black beans, salsa verde, crema and queso fresco.
This is the choice when a table is part of the morning, especially on a Monday or Tuesday when Mindy’s is closed. The hotel encourages reservations for weekend brunch; walk-ins are also welcome. Its all-day brunch menu also leaves room for a later breakfast. Use the café entrance at 1616 N Milwaukee Avenue in the Wicker Park/Bucktown intersection area.
Dove’s For Masa Pancakes And A Counter Seat
Dove’s Luncheonette gives the pancake decision some specificity. Its posted food menu pairs buttermilk masa pancakes with mole-spiced maple syrup and whipped agave butter, at USD 14. Choose the pancakes when that combination sounds better than eggs and toast. If you want eggs instead, the USD 17 Dove’s Deluxe includes potatoes, Texas toast and one choice from ham, bacon, sausage, refried beans or avocado.
The restaurant describes first-come counter seating and a limited number of reservations outside weekend brunch and holidays. A booking link does not mean you can reserve Saturday pancakes. It opens at 8 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, and 9 a.m. on weekdays. Budget for the 3.5% Hospitality Supplement: the USD 17 Deluxe becomes USD 17.60 before tax and tip. The address is 1545 N Damen Avenue, Wicker Park; the format suits someone happy to eat at a counter rather than someone who needs a conventional table booked ahead.
Mindy’s When Breakfast Is Coming With You
At Mindy’s Bakery, the important instruction is “grab-and-go only.” Choose it for baked goods to carry on with your morning. The October 14 bakery menu includes a smoked-ham, mustard and Gruyère croissant, a brown-sugar morning bun, and bagels such as everything and za’atar. Its breakfast sandwiches with pistachio mortadella, American cheese and Parmesan are listed for Friday through Sunday only. Wednesday is not the day to promise someone that sandwich.
The first bake and the second bake are also separate plans: the latter begins at 10:30 a.m., with items available as ready. The bakery warns that some products arrive later in service and others sell out. It does not take preorders. Current individual prices are absent from the posted list, so ask before building a budget around an order. Find it at 1623 N Milwaukee Avenue, in the Wicker Park/Bucktown area. It opens 7:30 a.m. Wednesday–Friday and 8 a.m. on weekends, closes at 3 p.m., and accepts cashless payment only.
Make The Format Do Some Of The Work
For a 7:30 a.m. meeting, start with Robey; Dove’s has not opened on weekdays and Mindy’s supplies no dine-in plan. For weekend masa pancakes, choose Dove’s and accept its walk-in policy. For a pastry stop, Mindy’s works when its opening days and the day’s bake list line up with what you want. An open door does not establish a wait time or product availability.
