Fresca Pizza & Pasta: For A Slice Near Spadina
Fresca is the small-commitment option: the Toronto website posts CAD 5 slices, letting you choose a single slice before deciding whether to add anything else. The same menu lists whole pizzas by size; an 11-inch margherita is CAD 12, with fresh basil, oregano and garlic oil in its description. Slice toppings depend on what is actually offered, so the margherita's whole-pizza listing does not establish that exact slice at the counter.
The useful location detail is 302 College, between Spadina and Bathurst. This is an eastern alternative to the Little Italy addresses below, not a reason to call every restaurant on College part of the same neighbourhood. Posted hours are Monday–Saturday, 11 a.m.–9:30 p.m.; Sunday is closed. The site gives a phone number for takeout and delivery enquiries, but does not establish your collection time. Ask when placing an order.

Café Diplomatico: For A Sandwich Without Sharing Negotiations
Café Diplomatico gives companions an individual order at 594 College. The current 2026 menu lists a veal sandwich with pomodoro sauce at CAD 15.50; fries are a separate CAD 7 side. One sandwich plus fries reaches CAD 22.50, while two sandwiches reach CAD 31 before sides. Extra sandwich toppings may cost more. That arithmetic matters if you are comparing it with a whole pizza rather than another sandwich.
If veal is not the choice, the Dip sandwich is CAD 12 with salami, capicollo, provolone, lettuce and tomato; Mama's chicken sandwich is CAD 16 with mozzarella, peppers, onions and tomato sauce. A broader Italian menu gives the pair room to order differently. The restaurant posts general hours from 8 a.m., but those hours do not establish the serving window for every sandwich or a late-night kitchen cutoff. Check your meal time directly.

Danny's Pizza Tavern: For A Whole-Pie Evening After Five
Danny's is the choice when you want to make a table and a whole pizza the plan. Its current menu lists a CAD 29 pepperoni tavern pie with grass-fed mozzarella and fior di latte. Add a CAD 8 basket of fries and those two items total CAD 37 for the table, before drinks, tax and tip. The menu does not state a diameter or serving count, so decide any further food according to appetite before deciding whether to add more food.
For a different pizza order, a CAD 21 tomato pie lists olive oil, garlic breadcrumbs, basil and oregano, while cacio pepe is CAD 28 with several cheeses and black pepper. Danny's opens daily at five and says it accepts reservations and walk-ins. Its linked Resy page encourages reservations and allocates two hours to tables; “late” on the homepage is not a verified kitchen closing time.

Start With Appetite, Then Check The Clock
For the smallest initial food spend here, choose a Fresca slice Monday–Saturday. For separate sandwiches, Café Diplomatico supplies the clearest per-person order. Choose Danny's when dinner starts after five and sitting down around a whole pie is the point. Sunday removes Fresca from this comparison; an afternoon plan removes Danny's until its posted opening.
