Sunday Brunch in Logan Square When You Want More Than Eggs

Your brunch companion wants eggs; you would rather have pasta, a tofu scramble or a sandwich with fries. In Logan Square, that does not require ordering a side dish and hoping it becomes lunch. Lula Cafe, Daisies and Longman & Eagle publish menus with substantive alternatives alongside breakfast choices. Start with the main you want, then check the service format: Lula’s daytime tables are first-come, Daisies’ brunch is Sunday-only, and Longman’s dinner reservations do not extend to brunch.

Examples are individual listed dishes, not equal portions. Figures exclude drinks, dessert and tax. Longman excludes gratuity; Lula accepts optional extra gratuity; Daisies’ charge includes all gratuity and fees, with no additional tip expected. Longman calls its posted menus recent examples, so confirm the day’s menu.

Lula Cafe: a scramble that starts with tofu

Lula’s daytime menu lists a $16 tofu-and-vegetable scramble with ginger miso, black sesame, house potatoes and toast. It gives the diner who wants a savory breakfast-shaped plate a substantive alternative to eggs, rather than asking them to assemble several sides. Confirm ingredients and preparation if your reason for avoiding eggs is a dietary requirement.

This is also a useful starting choice when the table wants different kinds of daytime food. Lula lists sandwiches and cafe classics on the same broader menu, so your companion’s breakfast does not have to determine your order. Daytime service normally runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday through Monday. Its FAQ says daytime seating is first-come and does not take reservations; a dinner reservation policy should not be carried into this meal.

Daisies: Sunday brunch makes room for pasta

Daisies’ current Sunday brunch PDF lists $21 pappardelle with mushroom ragù, house cheese and basil. The plate is a clear alternative for someone who would happily replace a breakfast main with pasta. Other brunch pasta choices include agnolotti with beets and smoked trout roe; check the full ingredients rather than treating a vegetable name as a dietary label.

The important calendar detail is Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is not the same as its Monday-through-Saturday lunch or daily cafe service. During Sunday brunch, the official location page says pastries and coffees are to-go only, so do not assume a casual cafe seat serves the same plan. With the 25% service charge included, the pappardelle example is $26.25 before tax or drinks.

Longman & Eagle: brunch can be a sandwich with fries

The wild-boar sloppy joe on Longman & Eagle’s posted weekend menu comes with aged cheddar, pickled jalapeño, onions, a potato roll and fries, for $18. It earns its place here because the brunch choice is a complete listed sandwich order with a side, not an egg plate with the egg removed.

Choose it when your Sunday appetite has already moved toward lunch. The weekend menu still gives your breakfast-minded companion egg choices, while you can follow another direction. Longman opens at 9 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, and its dining page explicitly excludes brunch from its limited dinner reservations. The online menu is described as a recent example; use it to establish the format and price context, then confirm the current version.

Keep the invitation precise

Say “Sunday brunch” if you mean Daisies’ dedicated service. Say “daytime meal” if Lula’s broader menu is the draw. At Longman, do not send a dinner booking link as though it secures brunch. Those distinctions matter more to this decision than whether every restaurant fits the same idea of a brunch spot.

Choose Lula for the tofu scramble, Daisies when pasta is the main event, and Longman for a sandwich-and-fries order. Eggs can be your companion’s decision. They do not have to be yours.
